In 2007 Carlton brought his 18 years of hands on experience consulting with large community oncology practices, national oncology networks, and pharmaceutical clients to MME. Practicing oncologists and pharmaceutical manufacturers regularly seek Carlton’s unique perspective about the business and technology of oncology. Prior to MME, he served as Executive Vice President with Strategic Oncology Services where he was responsible for strategic business development and expanding the company’s market research potential. At SOS he applied his understanding of the intricacies of the clinical and financial components of community-based oncology to help design and develop a national network of clinically integrated oncology service organization comprised of community-based practices. Carlton’s diverse background also includes operational and development experience at Response Oncology, where he served as Executive VP of Development while creating a network of 55 multidisciplined outpatient infusion centers in 32 states. As Executive VP of Strategic Development at CancerConsultants.com, Carlton developed a community oncology network that delivered a wide variety of custom oncology patient education and market research initiatives. He also has served as the Managing Director of two community oncology based GPOs with over a billion dollars of combined purchases annually. Carlton holds a Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences School of Pharmacy.
